For more than 100 years, Cooperative Extension has influenced and uplifted communities by offering resources and guidance from land-grand universities.
Since its inception, Cooperative Extension has centered on community involvement, reaching to schools, farms and homes. The core mission of the organization, prescribed back in 1914, is to extend university-based research and education to every county and community across the nation.
Today, UGA Extension thrives because of its community support and connections. Our programs still reach the traditional outlets, but have grown to include businesses, governments, non-profits and more.
Through partnerships like the Georgia Department of Agriculture and the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia, UGA Extension reaches many different types of clients and consumers across the state.
Additionally, UGA Extension itself has created its own sense of community. Changes and transitions of the organization, including administration, are also represented in the 'community' category.
